The most unique feature of this can opener is that it prevents the lid rom falling inside the can. This is both a huge convenience (how many times has a lid fallen into a can of soup or sauce and you have to fish it out?), but it's also just cleaner. The tops of cans can be easily contaminated - from mice in your home to contamination caused in transit from something spilling onto the lid. I'm not aware of any other openers with this feature.The one drawback is that it's not as simplistic to use as it appears. However, once you get the hang of it it works perfectly.
Once you've used this opener you won't want to go back.
